Dedicated Transportation Solutions Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Ascend Dedicated, LLC, which does business as Dedicated Transportation Solutions (“DTS”), regarding its recent data breach. The DTS data breach may have involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.


DTS is a trucking transportation company based in South Carolina. Founded in 2004, DTS provides varied transportation solutions that meet its individual client’s product and service requirements and goals.2 To that end, DTS focuses on maximizing the utilization of the truck, trailer, and driver while meeting all federal, state, and local laws.2 Offering a complete turnkey operation, DTS eliminates customers’ need to manage multiple cost centers and vendors, including equipment bills from leasing and maintenance companies, fuel purchases, driver leasing companies, and more. Headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, DTS employs over 500 individuals.


Recently, DTS discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, DTS determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information on or around December 16, 2023. On March 14, 2024, DTS began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by DTS. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license or state-issued identification number
  • Financial information (e.g., financial account number, credit or debit card number)
  • Medical information
  • Taxpayer ID number
  • Identity protection personal ID number
