Ridge Vineyards Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Ridge Vineyards, Inc. (“Ridge Vineyards”) regarding its recent data breach. The Ridge Vineyards data breach may have involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.


Ridge Vineyards is a winery based in California. Founded in 1962, Ridge Vineyards has championed a pre-industrial approach to single-vineyard winemaking, searching California for rare vineyards where climate, soil, and varietal are ideally matched.2 Today, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon account for most of Ridge Vineyards’ production; syrah, grenache, and carignane constitute the balance.2 Known primarily for its red wines, Ridge Vineyards also makes limited amounts of chardonnay.2 Headquartered in Cupertino, California, Ridge Vineyards employs over 50 individuals.


Recently, Ridge Vineyards discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Ridge Vineyards determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information on November 15, 2023. On March 29, 2024, Ridge Vineyards began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Ridge Vineyards. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license or state-issued identification number
  • Financial information (e.g., financial account number, credit or debit card number)
  • Medical information
  • Taxpayer ID number
  • Identity protection personal ID number
