Hair Club for Men Data Breach Investigation

The HairClub data breach involved personal identifiable information, and sensitive health information belonging to over 4,000 current and former employees.


HairClub is a hair regrowth, replacement, and restoration company based in Florida. Founded in 1976, HairClub has helped more than a million clients get the hair they love. Staffed by hair restoration consultants, licensed cosmetologists, and stylists, HairClub provides a variety of hair loss solutions that work for all genders, ages, ethnicities, and types of hair loss. Additionally, HairClub offers a range of products to encourage scalp and hair health, regrow hair, and add volume. Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, HairClub has more than 120 locations in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, and employs over 600 individuals.


Recently, HairClub discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which personal identifiable information and sensitive health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, HairClub determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and acquired this sensitive information on October 18, 2023. On January 12, 2024, HairClub began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license information
  • Direct deposit account information 
  • Medical information
