Orthopedics Associates of Flower Mound Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Orthopedic Associates of Flower Mound PLLC (“Orthopedic Associates”) regarding its recent data breach. The Orthopedic Associates data breach involved personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.


Orthopedic Associates is an all-inclusive orthopedic practice based in Texas. Founded in 1976, Orthopedic Associates offers a full spectrum of musculoskeletal care, along with in-house physical therapy, state-of-the-art-technology, and an on-site surgical center for patient convenience.2 With eight board-certified physicians in orthopedic specialties, Orthopedic Associates enables continuity of care close to home with on-call availability 24 hours a day, seven days a week.2 Headquartered in Flower Mound, Texas, Orthopedic Associates has an additional location in Northlake, Texas, and employs over 50 individuals.


Recently, Orthopedic Associates discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Orthopedic Associates determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a physician’s email account between July 7 and September 7, 2023. On March 6, 2024, Orthopedic Associates began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Financial account and/or payment card number
  • Medical information
